The New Sun is the first New Moon after the Winter Solstice. This marks the beginning of a new cycle of the Sun’s cyclical passage with the Moon through the zodiac.
The cardinal start-up energy of Capricorn has cleared the ground under the longest Dark Moon of the year for the structure supporting a new vision. The Romans named January after Janus, the two-faced god. As we can see in this collection of Janus artworks, the two faces of Janus represent the passage from youth to old age present in our life endings and beginning.
Saturnalia was celebrated on the eve of the Winter Solstice. The slaves changed places with their masters and continued as a practice of the inmates taking over the asylum, thereby reversing the power imbalance as a ritual establishing equilibrium on earth as reflected in heaven during the Sun’s journey through the wheel marking the four seasons.
2022 is unique in that the New Sun arrives just 36 hours after the New Year on the Gregorian calendar. This is an ironic convergence of Chronos/Kairos as the two faces of 2022 Janus. Time stands still again and the numbers on the clock are supplanted by the statistical engineering of numbers.

The reality ushered in with the 2022 New Sun is a collective understanding of how time — the reflection of the sundial or cycles between cosmic events — became an artificial construction to enslave humanity.
This awareness was prompted by the stress of Moon at 5 Capricorn hitting the Quaoar/Pholus Conjunction in the 2nd House of value in a harmonious trine to Uranus in the 6 House of the body, the newly awakened electrified Taurus body (left). The Mercury ingress into Aquarius filtered the Quaoar creative capstone to the four years of STILLNESS since PHOLUS hit my zero Capricorn Midheaven on January 21, 2018.
I was born with Pholus at the midpoint of my Sun and Venus in Aquarius (see PHOLUS EPHEMERIS for your location). Therefore, the mythology of uncorking the family wine as a hospitality measure rules my Aquarian life journey manifested as my calling — to awaken the Kundalini of the Earth. Pholus on my Midheaven created a career standstill for four years so this awareness could penetrate. On Christmas Day, I suffered a fall in my apartment and could not go out that week to purchase a bottle of spirits to ring in 2022. Pholus entered the collective consciousness via George Floyd, born with a Capricorn North Node conjunction with Lilith (left) triggered by transiting Pholus, making the 8″46’chokehold leading to his death (r) a national outcry.

Mythical time is the release from artificial time constructions dictating when to eat, sleep and work — timing that serves to regulate the body into habitual behaviors and therefore enslave the soul. Rituals and symbols are portals to into the universal time of myth. The Dark Moon before the Sun’s Rebirth triggering the exact conjunction of Pholus/Quaoar crystalized this awareness into an Aquarian creation myth, signaled by my natal Aquarian Sun exactly on the Midheaven of this first lunation of 2022, year of the Hieros Gamos.
The January 2 New Sun (EST) is 1:33 PM, the Sun is in the 8th house of collaboration/marriage trining Uranus in the 12th house making a semi-sextile to Saturn elevated in the 10th House. The somber mood of the five planet stellium in Capricorn has brightened with Mercury in Aquarius in semi-sextile to Jupiter in Pisces. Mars breaking free of the full of the South Node quest for TRUTH is leaving the sextile to Saturn in Aquarius into a new adventure into quantum time.
So, here we are truly in sync with cosmic time by the chance occurrence of the 2022 Gregorian Calendar New Year coinciding with the 2022 New Sun. The authorities in my location have reinforced the power of this synchronicity with a curfew and new shutdown heightening my personal experience of the three days of the Dark Moon (December 29-January 1) as the DARK NIGHT OF THE SOUL.
Now, we have been through this dark night before, so much that we are getting accustomed to the Uncertainty. However, the 2022 alignment of cosmic timing with human timing is truly exceptional.
This is the portal to the Quantum!
The two faces of JANUS is where December’s acceleration of the quantum becomes recognizable as a new duality: the quantum cyclical time of unlimited potentialities co-existing with the authoritarian imposition of control over the causal linear time clock. The Janus joke, however, is that the stakeholders have twisted the capriciousness of their authority into the Ouroboros serpent devouring its own tail, turning from eating others into eating themselves. The Janis two face is hallowed out by contradictions created the VOID by which the truly enlightened arise to collectively usher in a global cultural awakening.

We have Mercury retrograde in Aquarius on January 14 and will be retrograde with Venus until her station on January 29. On February 27, Venus last pass catches up to the Feb 4 Mercury station at 24 ♑️ on February 4 (conjunct Pluto 27 ♑️). This means that by the time of the Spring Equinox, the quantum will be launched as the buzzword for the 2020s, ushering in a new visual aesthetic is film, literature, art and clearly fashion. This is the 2022 = six year manifesting in the culture as the Hieros Gamos sacred marriage of Heaven & Earth.
